Description:
The Animal R-package is a collection of functions for analyzing animal (including humans) behavior data originating from a variety of sources. The package has functions to analyze time coded behaviors from CowLog (open source software for coding behaviors from digital video) data files and observation files with similar format. Other features include hourly, daily, weekly and monthly summaries of time coded data, analysis of RIC (roughage intake system, Insentec automation) data files and labeling measurement data according to behavioral observations for e.g model building purpose.

Usage:
Consult the Animal manual on how to use Animal. The Animal functions are documented in the manual and CowLog manual also provides an example analysis call for CowLog data files.

Installation:
Animal is distributed via CRAN (The Comprehensive R Archive Network). The package is available as source code and a binary package. Animal can be downloaded and installed from CRAN using the R command:

> install.packages(‘Animal’)

Development:
The development of Animal package is hosted on the R-Forge platform. Use the Animal project page to submit feature requests and bug reports. Or if you wish to contribute to the project, sign up as a developer.
